Ok obviously I have disappeared for a while, and honestly I will probably not be doing much here for a while. I just thought it would be nice to drop a line and kind of update things.
For the many of you who don’t know, I am getting married — in August (2007) and between my quite occupied social life and the very significant amount of work I’ve had to do lately (no regrettably of course) I really have not had much time to do musical anything. In the last few weeks, however, I have picked up my guitar a few times and again I am getting some tinges — ideas on maybe a new album. (Don’t expect too much). The idea, however, is to work up some very rocking album using lots of finger tapping and heavy rock guitar, combined with a complementary banjo, overlayed with some awesome philosophical theme that I have yet to come up with.
Hey it will probably be a while, but here I am, still alive — on my grandmother’s birthday and my 5 year college graduation anniversary. I hope everyone is rockin and I hope soon I am again too

Ok so it has been a severely long time since I updated anything!
Honestly it is because not much has been happening … a lot has been going on in my life, moving, new g/f (not so new anymore) etc. and anything musical has kind of taken a back seat. Of course, looking back on things, this time of year is always kind of lethargic for me musically. I think I’m ready now to get back into the swing of recording TSOTSS, and maybe even work on some new stuff, but anyway I am going update some other things that need updating and hopefully keep on top of things here again.
Thanks for stopping by.

I just finished recording “Hope (The Nightmare)” and it too is a boorish piece of unexciting pop with absolutely no listenability. This album sucks, and is going to be a pain in the ass to listen too, and I hope I can finish recording it and get it over with so I can get on to making some music that isn’t candy melancholic filth. Update terminated.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day ! … It’s been a while so I thought I’d post some updates. I celebrated my mom’s birthday last night by playing Open Mic … you know totally different than my typical Thursday evening. I played a pretty good set anyway … one of my best performances by at least one count
I think my mom, stepdad, and granddad agreed but it’s hard to tell. Not really their style of music anyway.
I have the first four songs of TSOTSS recorded, although I will likely need to redo the acoustic guitar on “Appreciated.” Recording has gone relatively well, considering, and the final products are excellent. I haven’t budgeted my recording time terribly wisely, however. It’s the time of year when things start to get hectic, and I have a lot on my plate as of late. Hopefully, I can get it all together and get another two or three recordings kicked next week. I’ll let you know.

I guess it’s about time I passed along some news? Well there really isn’t all that much. I’ve been playing the Open Mics just about every week … I missed February 9. This week was really good … I felt like I sang and played very well and wish I had a recording. The audience was very attentive and quite large for what I have been encountering. I didn’t hang around long because Cecily and I were both tired and needed to get home and go to sleep. It was still after 1 before we got to …
As some of you know, I have started recording “Two Sides Of The Same Soul,” and, as of today, have completed track 1: “A Dream.” So far everyone who has heard it has really liked it, and it is honestly my highest quality recording to date. It sounds very good, and somehow still maintains the feel of the original demo. I am very pleased with it. I’m not sure when I will continue with the rest of the album, but I’ll let you know as I make progress. I’m guessing I’ll be ready to release it by late summer–I am putting a lot of attention to detail into these recordings. I want them to be as perfect as possible … after all I am eventually going to want radio airplay of them.
Anyway the lofi of “A Dream” is up so you should check it out. Until next time …

Things have been going pretty well with local performances. I’ve been playing the Open Mics at Coalie Harry’s every week, with no plan on stopping. Nothing has come of any band opportunities yet, but it is a lot of fun doing what I’m doing, so I’m going to keep at it.
I am delayed on my recordings just because for some reason I can’t get motivated to do them. I am not really sure where exactly to start, but several of my new songs are beginning to grow on people so the outlook is at least positive.

Due to vehicle malfunction and irrational, illogistic backup plans, I have had to cancel my spot at the songwriter show in Parkersburg this weekend. I’ll have more details later.

Alright … one more performance for the record books. Last night I played the Open Mic Night at Coalie Harry’s in downtown Winchester, and I just rocked the house … ok maybe not, but I had a lot of fun. I played Lucky Town, You, Born, I Know (Which Way), Lucky Town again (by request), One, and The Time Is Yours. As usual, and as I anticipated, Lucky Town got a huge reception. I don’t really think of it as my best song, but everyone else seems to think is, so why argue?
Anyway, I have (or will have soon) posted pictures from the performance.
Furthermore, for at least the next two Thursdays I am planning to play the Open Mic again. On January 27th I will be going to the Six Pence club in Parkersburg, WV to play for a songwriter’s show, where in attendance will be some representatives from the Nashville Songwriters Assocation International. We’ll have a little private demo, and then play live after 9:00. I am going to pitch Lucky Town, and if I am incredibly lucky, I might get it out to the public somehow. I’m crossing my fingers.
February 1, I will be playing the Open Mic Night at Shenandoah University, and it’d be great for everyone to come out and see me. This will likely be the biggest crowd I have ever played for, so I anticipate it with enthusiasm. It is my understanding that this Open Mic recurs the first Wednesday of every month, so I will probably play it again some too.
I guess soon I’ll have to add an “Events” link to the left hand column of my page … it sure is getting full. I’m also thinking of making a “Top Ten” section, where I list my favorite 10 current songs, all-time songs, etc. I think it will be interesting, though it is incredibly difficult for me to name pick favorites. It may also end up being “Top 50″ or something like that.

Hey guess what! I finally have … well sort of … performance news. I am going to play (or at least go to — play if I don’t chicken out) at the open mic night at Coalie Harry’s in Winchester on Thursday night. Come listen to me. If I record it I might post the lofis.
Oh yeah … and for any of the rest of you … take a listen to at least one of my songs. Most people would recommend Lucky Town, but there are lots to choose from. If you want a suggestion, email me — I’ll help you out, or sign up to my forums (FREE of course) and discuss it with some more of my fans. As always, thanks for stopping by.
