Happy Thanksgiving! (for those who celebrate it)
This week’s podcast is another of my originals: “Endless Rain” off my album “Heaven.”

As usual: me on my acoustic, in my studio, no editing, recorded on Sony ICD-SX700, blah, blah, blah …

Even though I decided to do two songs per week moving forward, this week I’m only doing one as my schedule is a little hectic.
The song I did is one of my favorites that I wrote called “Walls of a Dream,” and it’s off my album “Heaven.”
And, as usual, this is just me on my acoustic, in my studio, recorded on my Sony ICD-SX700 digital voice recorder, no modifications other than trimming at the beginning and end.

Oh, be cautioned: There are large fluctuations in volume

I do not believe in God or any other mystical entity, creature, power source, etc., and I’ll make no effort to mask it, hide it, distort it, or spin it. I mention this, since it is mostly irrelevant to the general theme of this post, to make sure it is clear. Given that, what I am about to write has nothing to do with proving or disproving anything, it is simply a question.
So one has to ask, if human beings are occupied by souls (and I won’t consider the possibility of any other animals fitting the same category), why is it the number of humans are increasing? What causes a soul to decide “I want to leave whatever state I am in,” and why, as time passes, do more decide to take the leap?
Will the overcrowding from Earth be a problem in Heaven too? And why are these souls exiting from Heaven to spend a relatively short lifetime proving their worth to enter back there? Presumably, the souls aren’t coming from hell.
However, there is always the possibility that new souls are being created, but does that not beg the question “Why?”
Just more notes, thoughts from my unrequited curiosity.

Amid dire requests for me to update my website, since I can’t seem to do it without strict coercion, I have uploaded lo-fi versions of Heaven and Hell for everyone to enjoy (or abhor). For my next albums, rather than write something specifically, I am writing songs at random with certain projects in mind. Once I have enough songs for an album that make sense together, I will start recording. This way, I am free to write any song without worrying about fitting it on an album, and I can maintain a greater musical continuity throughout the album when I do record it.
I will keep everyone posted (hopefully) with any major status changes. Also, I hope soon to actually put stuff on the other sections of this site that I have not yet done anything with. I still haven’t posted the picture of my newest guitar.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by. Perhaps soon there will be something worth your reading time written here.

The songs are done ! The songs are done !
Finally all 26 songs for Heaven and Hell are written and recorded. Now it’s just a matter of designing the graphics for the covers and putting any finishing touches on the recordings. Heaven and Hell will come to fruition in less than a month.

Ok I am more than half way on Heaven and Hell now so all is well. I’ve decided to take a short hiatus from writing and recording because I am afraid I will rush things. As it stands right now, the album is becoming a magnificent thematic piece, and I don’t want to jeopardize that. In comparison, I’ve already written the same number of songs that I wrote for It All Comes Out, and I still have to write as many as are on Triad, so it’s kind of cumbersome. On a happier note, however, I am extremely optimistic on my vocals as through a combination of improved equipment and thought-out retakes mixed with an actual attempt to improve my voice, the vocal tracks actually are tolerable and in most cases sound good. At any rate, I hope to resume writing within a week or two time frame. Who knows, maybe stuff will still come although I’m not trying.
I’ve also tentatively “imagined” a release date of August 3. The reason for this is my previous releases have all been on Tuesdays, corresponding to typical album release practice. However, the first album was released on the first of the month, the second album on the second, and August 3 just so happens to be a Tuesday corresponding to the rate at which I am writing songs (to complete the album.) Let’s hope I am not put into shock during my upcoming move from Morgantown.

Ok it appears as though my website is officially underway.
The most immediate update is that I am working on a two-cd project entitled “Heaven and Hell.” I have been working on this since about August (2003), and it may take quite a while to complete. Who knows ? I have been known to do binge writing. Nonetheless, you can keep up with this project here.
The other project that is underway is that I am recording bass tracks for my old releases. As you can see on my albums page, I have recorded two albums to date. Both were released on mp3.com which has since been dissolved. However, the official releases were It All Comes Out October 1, 2002 and Triad April 2, 2003. You can check these out on the albums page.
Any other news would include my hoping to start playing a few open mics, maybe get in a band. We shall see I suppose.
